Everything you need to run, review, and optimize alt text generation.

Quick start

Install the app, complete billing, then choose a workflow:

  • Manual mode for on-demand generation.
  • Auto mode for continuous coverage of missing alt text.

Dashboard basics

The Dashboard is where you review, edit, and generate alt text.

  • Search by product title, ID, or image URL.
  • Filter by status (completed, failed, queued, updated).
  • Filter by source (auto, manual, manual edit, webhook).
  • Edit alt text inline and click Save to update Shopify.

Generate for a single image

  1. Find the image row on the Dashboard.
  2. Click Generate (or Regenerate if it already has alt text).
  3. Wait for the queued status to complete.

Auto mode

When auto mode is enabled, the app reacts to Shopify updates and queues jobs for missing alt text. You can still edit any result manually.

Usage & billing

The Settings page shows included images, overage rates, and queue health. The Refresh button updates usage totals and queue status.

FAQs

Does the app overwrite existing alt text?

Only when you manually generate or regenerate an image. Existing alt text is left alone by default.

Why are there multiple jobs for a manual generate?

Updating an image can trigger a Shopify webhook. In auto mode, that webhook may enqueue a follow-up job to keep the rest of the product images in sync.

How long does generation take?

Most images complete within seconds. Large catalogs or busy queues may take longer.

Can I edit alt text after generation?

Yes. Edit the text directly in the Dashboard and click Save.

Is my data secure?

Offline access tokens are encrypted, and only the minimum data required for generation is stored.
